Knoydart
Meall Buidhe & Luinne Bheinn
22nd August 2007

Possably the best hiking area anywhere in Scotland, very remote and
weatherwise very unpredictable

On the small ferry from Mallaig to Inverie, from left to right we have
Ladhar Bheinn, Sgurr Coire Choinnichean, Luinne Bheinn, Meall Buidhe & Beinn Bhuidhe

A fantasti view of Sgurr Coire Choinnichean rising above Inverie. The pointy hill in the very far
distance is the classic Munro Sgurr nan Ciche

The big west ridge of Meall Buidhe lies ahead, we are going just to the right of that ridge into Gleann Meadail

A pity about the quality of this picture, as the summit of Luinne Bheinn is one fantastic view point.
The Cuillins can just be seen to the left of Ladhar Bheinn

The unpredictable nature of Knoydarts weather, a perfect forecast but I woke up to this low cloud, I hung about for a couple of hours then decided to walk off and save my final Munro for a good day.

Leaving Inverie, the choice to walk off had been a good one the cloud had never lifted.
