Ben Klibreck ... March 07
Ben Klibreck

A superb day out exploring some remote countryside, with a magnificent stroll through Strath a' Chraisg followed by some high level walking with incredible views

Parking ½m north of Vagastie, I cycled the 2½m to Crask Inn. After a crystal clear start to the day, the above picture shows cloud starting to form on the summit of Ben Klibreck. This was of some concern as the same had occurred the previous day and the cloud that formed in the morning persisted all day seeImage

Leaving Crask Inn, the track doesn't look too good, and it doesn't improve. Ben Klibreck now well covered in cloud.

Crask Inn now some 3 miles distant. Although very boggy and heavy going, I thoroughly enjoyed this walk through Strath a' Chraisg, in fact it may well of been the highlight of the day.

Over the Bealach Easach and looking north east down to Loch a' Bhealaich. My route will take me up the hill on the left skyline.

This whole area was alive with frogs.

Taken while ascending Meall an Eoin, could well of been the best view of the day, Loch a' Bhealaich (right) and Loch Choire (left)

Finally onto the high ground. Creag an Lochain to the left and the summit of Ben Klibreck (Meall nan Con) to the right. Thankfully the cloud that threatened earlier has now cleared.
