Overview
The principles of the game are very straightforward. You will be given
10 randomly picked hills, and you need to identify that hill by clicking
it on the map. After clicking your chosen hill a score is awarded based
on how close you are and how long it has taken you. After your 10 goes
have been completed your scores will be displayed.
How the scores are calculated ?
One point for every mile out + one point for every second taken
Tips on scoring well.
If you haven't got a clue where the hill is click somewhere round about
Tulloch as this is the center of all the Munros, If you are not 100%
sure, click somewhere in the area you are thinking of. The time penalty
will soon outweigh the mileage penalty.
Hills with the same name.
I have removed the 40 hills that have duplicate names from the list
of possible choices, these hills still exist on the map but you won't,
for instance be asked where Geal Charn is!
Viewing the results.
After you complete your 10 goes, you are presented with a small table
that shows what hills you were ask and shows how close you were, how
long it took and what points were attributed. A useful feature of this
table is, if you hover the mouse over the name of the hill, the corresponding
hill on the map turns bright red, this is useful tool for learning where
the hills are.
Registered User / Guest
The game works just as well as a guest, the only advantages of being
a registered user are, you get a unique name that others can't use and
on the Leaderboard page you get to see a history of your own scores,
useful to monitor your progress!
Delay
A drop down menu at the top of the page allows the delay between goes to be
adjusted between 1 and 5 seconds, I have found the 2 sec delay works best for me.
